Story Money Impact is thrilled to announce a new program to support documentary filmmakers to educate, engage, inspire, and create social impact in Canada using films that are finished and have already premiered! We believe there is a significant inventory of Canadian social interest documentary films made within the past six years that could help address current pressing issues. We’d like to re-engage these films as productive tools for the common good.

  • Education and Labs: STORY TO ACTION will select five films, and take their filmmaking teams through an extensive Impact Lab to help each team create a unique impact strategy with specific goals for how their film can be used as a tool for change. There will also be a Pitch Lab dedicated to the craft of creating succinct, impactful messaging and presentations designed to showcase the powerful educational possibilities of each film.
  • Research and Outreach: Our team will spend months assisting each team with research to identify the people and organizations best equipped to uphold and sustain each project’s impact goals. We will also conduct outreach to build potential partnerships to support the impact work of your film.
  • Community Building: With signature Story Money Impact flair, we’ll host a community building event for each film. This is where the people and organizations who have learned about your project and goals can excitedly attend and pledge their support and expertise to each project.

Applications close June 13th, 2021.
