About Pink Skies
Pink Skies is an inspirational documentary about the empowering women and overcoming obstacles as human beings. The film covers an extraordinary event, “Jump for the Cause” which brought together 181 women from 31 countries to create a World Record All-Women’s Skydiving Formation. The women also raised almost $1 million for breast cancer research! Along with phenomenal skydivers, the film features breast cancer survivors, cutting-edge researchers, doctors and healers.
About The Festival
The Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival is produced by Alliance of Women Filmmakers Inc., a non-profit 501c(3) organization established to empower women filmmakers to create diverse roles for women. Each year in March the festival showcases narratives, documentaries, animation and student short films. The festival’s programming reflects the organization’s commitment to educate and inform audiences of social, political and health issues impacting women globally. In addition to providing women a platform to share their unique stories, the festival serves as a fundraiser for organizations that serve women’s causes. The 2011 festival will run from March 25 to March 31 at the Laemmle Sunset 5 in Hollywood.
