Jennifer works as an editor, actor, producer and director and enjoys telling stories of her own and assisting others. Beginning her career in theatre after graduating from UCLA with a BA in Theatre Arts, she ran La Vache Enragee Productions in San Francisco, officially incorporating as a 501(c)(3) in 2005. In addition to various theatre productions the company produced an annual multi-media event of short plays and silent films accompanied by originally composed live music. As an actor she has appeared in theatre productions, independent film, commercials and television shows (including Baywatch Hawaii, As the World Turns, One Life to Live and Law & Order: SVU). She has directed, edited and produced documentary and narrative fiction shorts which have screened at numerous festivals. Her short documentary The “Underground” Music Scene of the NYC Subways was a runner-up in the London Sundance/Nokia competition. Jennifer was nominated for Best Director at the Northeast Film Festival for the short fiction film Through the Valley. She wrote her thesis for her film studies degree at the City University of New York Graduate Center on the work and advocacy of women directors in the United States and began her ongoing documentary project The 2nd Sex and the 7th Art. Jennifer currently curates films as part of the Undiscovered Works monthly series in NYC and an annual event inspired by Barbara Ann O'Leary's Directed by Women celebration with her partner Eric Rice.
